North Shore Journal

Tamy and I decided to celebrate the 2010 Winter Solstice in one the crispest regions of the lower 48. Located only three hours north of our home in Stillwater, Lake Superior is an icon of the midwest. Cold Canadian air swirls above this inland sea and creates localized weather systems that add drama to an already spectacular landscape.
Put on your expedition-weight underwear, a down jacket, and take a walk with us along the North Shore... it's as cold as it looks!
